Burrum Biodynamic Rolled Oats are grown on the edge of the Wimmera plains in north-western Victoria.
Stephen and Tania Walter began converting their farm to biodynamics in 2000, after spending years learning about biodynamics through biodynamic pioneer Alex Podolinsky.
Today they are committed as ever to biodynamic farming, so much so that Stephen often greets farm visitors with a pitch fork, as he is eager to show off the farm soil health that underpins the biodynamic way of farming.
These oats are rolled and stabilised, they are part of the Walter’s crop rotation system which also includes the green puy lentils that we sell.
If you're wondering what to do with a bunch of oats, why not try your hand at making your own muesli, or starting each day with a warming bowl of porridge in the cooler months. Oats are also a great base for homemade muesli bars, The Minimalist Baker has a terrific recipe. We also sell large metal storage tins that are airtight to store bulk dry goods like oats in so you can always have some on hand (yep we've thought of everything).
